Agent Provocateur is the brainchild of Joseph Corré, the son of the eccentric British fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood.

Though the Soho store is small by comparison to some of the larger outlets, you can find a good range of lingerie, swimwear, nightwear and boudoir accessories. They sell a stylish collection of whips, cuffs, chokers and body chains.

Ann Summers

The UK’s first gay sex superstore, Clonezone’s roots are humble in the extreme. Owners originally touted their trade from a wheelbarrow that they pushed around the Soho gay clubs and bars on Friday and Saturday nights. In 1984, demand for their products was so high that they opened this shop in Old Compton Street.

The company now has several UK shops as well as a presence in Germany and Austria.

The Soho store remains the flagship venue for the brand and, though a small unit, they stock an impressive range of gay sex toys, fashion, fetish wear and gifts. Like a Tardis, the shop conceals a huge selection of brands. It can get a little intimate when the shop is busy so be prepared to rub shoulders with other customers when you browse!

The company was founded on the principle of combining a licensed sex shop with a bookshop and, as such, the basement stocks a pretty healthy range of saucy toys, DVDs and treats.
